Parasol block
This has got to be the cutest block ever. Can't you see a whole quilt done with these little blocks. This is from the Grandmother's Choice block of the week. I'm trying to catch up again.
Love this block but it was a bit tricky. I had to pay attention and ended up unpicking a lot.
This is a "Ho-Hum" block but the blocks can't all sparkle or the viewer would be over-stimulated.
I made this block twice and it wasn't the right size either time. So, it's just going to have some of it's points cut off because it's too pretty to leave out of the quilt.
This block is prettier in person. Bad angle.
This block was tricky too. Some of the blocks really challenge me but that's good.
This is a picture of some of the blocks from the other Grandmother's Choice quilt I'm doing using scraps. I just wanted you to see that adorable parasol block in other fabrics.
As far as the rest of my life is going. . . we haven't had water to the house since Monday. Our pipes have frozen. We have water to the shed and there is a water heater in it so we've been able to wash dishes and bathe. Alas, I hope the temperatures rise soon.
And just when I'm down, my Direct TV box went out.
I don't think that's fair, do you?

Your blocks look wonderful, Robin. You have been busy.
And yes, the parasol block would make a very cute quilt with a variety of florals.
Oh, no water. What a bummer! Glad you have a source that lets you wash up, but that is no fun!
Without realizing we were doing it, or home is designed with no pipes in exterior walls. During winters like this, it has been a blessing. Hope you can get things functioning again soon!
well maybe the silver lining here is no tv so more sewing going on?
love the new blocks and yes I think a whole quilt of the parasol blocks would just be very fun!
Kathie
hope the pipes thaw out soon, I can't imagine having to deal with that.
glad you have an alternative though in the shed.

I like the parasol.
Lovely blocks you have made, the parasol is sweet.
I do hope your water supply will be back soon!!
