Blustery Day

I completed as much as I'm going to do for the March segment of the Sweet Land of Liberty QAL.  That top panel was brutal as far as needle-turn applique goes (very tiny letters).   I'm saving some of the other elements till next month.  I need to make some progress on a couple of other projects.

We had a very blustery day today with rain, wind, and delightful clouds.  My idea of bliss.

Enjoy your day,
Robin

I was thinking the same thing, about how different these two quilts are. :)
Oh, I could never do that improv thing--my brain just will not think that way. I admire your ability to think outside the box.
We have had snow for quite a while tonight. I hope the roads are better when I go to town tomorrow than they were when I drove home from Relief Society tonight. We are just over 2 miles from the church, and I never thought I would make it.

I love your Liberty quilt. I'm still working on the applique on mine. It is so much fun to see how everyone does their blocks. Hugs

I did a lot of work on Sweet Land of Liberty a few years ago. It has to be in the quilt closet somewhere but I have not had time to search. I don't know exactly how much is left to do. I don't know if I did the part with the letters. I probably would use wool if I have not already done something. Your letters look very good.

Your Sweet Land of Liberty quilt is looking great. I made this quilt in 2003 and at first had problems with sideways angels but let it go. Having taken a lot of classes from Cheri you learn to improvise. Have you tried mixing wool applique with your homespuns. This quilt calls for a lot of variety in both material and procedure - piecing and embroidery. Have fun.

Love how your snowball quilt is coming along! The colors are wonderful and that bit of crotchet lace is so intriguing!

Fascinating! Your ideas for the snowball quilt are really exciting and like Audrey I love the colours.

very dissimilar indeed but that is what makes quilting so much fun! : )

I do not needle turn but rather use freezer paper and starch and those letters would have been very hard to do with that method as well. Not sure if I'd have taken a break or just jumped out the window so kudos to you :)

I love your Sweet Land of Liberty. I'm quilting along also. I have had to change up some things because I made an error in the size of the flag basket in the first month. But it turned out even better I think. I like to see what others are doing.

Top is finished

I finished the Wisconsin quilt top.  That border is just so lovely.  It is from a line called "Riverbanks" by Jeanne Horton.  I h...
