Next block finished

The Pomegranate block from 'When the Wind Blows is all ready to be machine appliqued.

I loved doing this block.  There are 3 dots that go on each of the solid dark pomegranates on either side that I'll do after the machine work is done.

Karen at Karensquilting.com has just completed her pomegranate block too.  It is so delightful - all done in oranges.  Go here to see.

My husband brought in a bouquet of Dahlias.  Aren't they beautiful?

I got out some decorations for fall today.  It makes me laugh because fall always gets decorated with Jo Morton quilts from Little Women 11.  They just make everything look like Autumn.

Your Pomegranate block looks wonderful, Robin. Lovely bouquet and coincidentally I mentioned Jo in my post today. I borrowed her book from the library.

Those Dahlias just glow!!
I still have my patriotic quilts out from summer. I need to get with it. :)

Beautiful dahlias! Such vibrant colors!
This is the first I noticed that the backgrounds for these blocks are pieced -- or maybe it is just this one that is pieced. I think it adds another layer of interest to an already beautiful block.

such beautiful applique blocks! Love the colours you are using.
The pieced backings are very effective too.

Your finished block is just lovely! Those soft greens really help make your pomegranates pop. I look at this and it makes me want to do something applique with pomegranates now.:)
