This is what my kitchen table looks like this morning. I'm continuing to sew squares together with the sashing. The unfinished row in the front is the middle row so I'm almost half done assembling this quilt top. You can see the stack of quilt blocks in the lower left that are the other half.
This is another view of the table with my four quarts of tomatoes. I don't get enough tomatoes at a time to fill the canner so I figure four full quarts is better than no quarts at all.
The quilt has been spread out on my table all week. I just sew a few rows at a time. This morning I sewed two rows with the long sashing. Now, it's time for my shower.
It is already good and hot so a shower will feel so good.

I love what is happening on your kitchen table! Four quarts of tomatoes is more than we will get from our tomatoes this year, they did not do well at all. On the other hand we have 35 quarts of blueberries in the freezer, so we won't starve this winter!
This quilt is going to be simply gorgeous, Robin! The sashing you chose is so beautiful for these blocks! I always think I like these blocks with three fabrics/colors per block, and then I see one like this with mostly two fabrics per block and reconsider. I keep wavering about starting and then don't. I think I'm in a slump.
I so admire you for all the canning you do. My mom used to can a lot--corn, beans, tomatoes, pickles and relishes, strawberry jam, elderberry jam, raspberry jam, peaches.... I know how to can but we don't have a garden and so I rarely can anything. It would be so much cooler these days with central air than when my mom canned in the '50s with only fans.

I love your quilt so much that I bought the pattern! I bought the PDF pattern at APQ rather than the magazine. I really want to make it, it's so pretty. Wish I could give you some of the tomatoes I had - I finally made some batches of sauce and froze it. It pains me to say it, but we are sick of tomatoes. After we take down the vines, I'll start craving them again - lol!
